Talliki Vandanam Scheme : Key Update on Fund Deposit for Students in Andhra Pradesh

The government of Andhra Pradesh has announced an important update regarding the Talliki Vandanam Scheme, one of the major welfare programs introduced under the Super Six promises. The scheme aims to strengthen school education by providing financial assistance directly to the bank accounts of mothers whose children are studying in recognized schools across the state.

Recently, the government shared several important details about the scheme, including the number of beneficiaries, the amount of funds already distributed, and the timeline for the next installment. This announcement has brought clarity and relief to thousands of parents who were waiting for updates regarding the next payment.

The Talliki Vandanam Scheme has become a crucial support system for many families, especially those from economically weaker sections. By providing financial assistance for education-related expenses, the government aims to ensure that children continue their schooling without financial difficulties.

What is the Talliki Vandanam Scheme?

The Talliki Vandanam Scheme is an educational welfare initiative launched by the government of Andhra Pradesh to reduce school dropout rates caused by financial constraints.

Under this program, financial assistance is transferred directly to the bank accounts of mothers whose children are studying in Classes 1 to 12 in government, aided, and private schools recognized by the state.

The main objective of the scheme is to reduce the financial burden on families and encourage parents to continue sending their children to school.

The funds provided through the scheme can be used for various education-related expenses such as:

  • Buying school textbooks and study materials

  • Purchasing uniforms and footwear

  • Paying transportation expenses

  • Meeting school fees and other academic needs

By sending the money directly to mothers, the government ensures that the funds are used primarily for the children’s educational needs.

₹8,454 Crore Already Distributed

According to Nara Lokesh, the state’s Education and IT Minister, the government has already distributed a large amount of financial assistance under the scheme.

He stated that the government has deposited ₹8,454 crore directly into the bank accounts of mothers across the state.

So far, 67,01,653 students have benefited from this financial assistance. The minister emphasized that the government fulfilled its promise by releasing the funds at the beginning of the academic year so that parents could purchase school supplies and meet education-related expenses without financial stress.

For many families living in rural and semi-urban areas, this support has played a major role in helping children continue their education.

Next Installment Likely in June

The government also clarified when the next round of financial assistance will be released under the scheme.

Officials confirmed that the next installment of the Talliki Vandanam funds is expected to be deposited in June, which usually marks the beginning of the new academic year.

This timing is important because parents typically face many expenses at the start of the school year, including buying textbooks, uniforms, and other study materials.

By releasing the funds during this period, the government aims to ensure that families receive financial support when they need it most.

Parents across Andhra Pradesh are now eagerly waiting for the next deposit, as it will help them prepare their children for the upcoming academic year.

Student Data Based on UDISE Records

During discussions in the Legislative Council, Minister Nara Lokesh also shared important statistics regarding student enrollment in the state.

According to data from the Unified District Information System for Education (UDISE), a total of 79,51,903 students are currently studying in Classes 1 to 12 in Andhra Pradesh.

Out of these students, 67,01,653 have already received financial assistance under the Talliki Vandanam Scheme, which means around 84.27% of eligible students have benefited from the program.

The government stated that its goal is to ensure that every eligible student receives support through this initiative.

Improved Coverage Compared to Previous Years

The minister also compared the current coverage of the scheme with previous years.

According to the data shared:

  • In 2020–21, around 44 lakh students received financial assistance out of nearly 83 lakh students.

  • In 2021–22, about 43 lakh students benefited out of around 82 lakh students.

  • In 2022–23, approximately 42 lakh students received assistance out of nearly 80 lakh students.

Overall, during those years, only about 52% of students received financial aid.

However, the current government claims that the Talliki Vandanam Scheme has significantly expanded its reach, with over 84% of eligible students now receiving benefits.

Conclusion

The Talliki Vandanam Scheme has become an important step toward improving access to education in Andhra Pradesh. By providing direct financial assistance to mothers, the government aims to reduce the financial burden on families and encourage children to continue their education.

With the next installment expected in June, thousands of families are hoping to receive timely support once again. If implemented effectively, the scheme can play a vital role in strengthening the state’s education system and ensuring that no child drops out of school due to financial difficulties.
